Crutchfield tapped as 1st CEO of Innovate Alabama

Cynthia Crutchfield has been tapped as the first CEO of Innovate Alabama, the state’s public-private partnership focused on technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Before serving as COO of Huntsville’s The Crutchfield Company, a real estate investment business, Crutchfield spent 18 years as a civil servant and founded her own IT services and consulting company, Crutchfield Management Consulting. She is a graduate of Alabama A&M.

The Montgomery native is hired Dec. 1.

“With a passion for entrepreneurship, supporting underrepresented communities and bettering our state, I am honored to lead the organization as we work to foster an innovation ecosystem to compete in the 21st century economy,” she said.

Crutchfield will oversee the organization’s overall strategy and operations, advocate for policy solutions and engage with the state’s innovation entrepreneurs.
