What I learnt… about ageism in venture capital | Business

Kim Antoniou is founder and chief executive at Auris. Auris has developed Fonetti (a reading platform and an app for schools that supports literacy) and is now the company’s founder. It has 11 employees and has raised £2.3 million in investment, mainly from business angels including the TV presenter Clare Balding, who is also a brand ambassador.

Antoniou, who is 61, intends to raise more funds from institutional investors. Kafoodle is a software company that assists commercial kitchens in tracking and managing food allergens. She is also co-founder. She started Kafoodle, which has sales of £1 million, after her husband, Ron, nearly died from an allergic reaction to sesame in 2013.
